George Matijow founded Medical Marketing Research Inc. in 1988, after a successful career in sales and market research within the US pharmaceutical industry. Completing his MBA in 1978, Mr. Matijow held positions of increasing responsibility with Burroughs Wellcome (sales), The Upjohn Company (market research) where he was market research manager and the analyst responsible for Motrin, then the number 1 selling pharmaceutical in the world, Marion Laboratories (new product research), and Glaxo, Inc. (where responsibilities included new and existing product research, health economics, and the then number 1 selling pharmaceutical in the world, Zantac).

Mr. Matijow has been active with the Qualitative Research Consultants Association (QRCA), the Pharmaceutical Business Intelligence Research Group (PBIRG), and is a past officer with the Pharmaceutical Market Research Group (PMRG).
